Our client is the Indonesian subsidiary of one of the world’s leading cement companies and operates in a number of local provinces. With a presence in 78 countries, the company has orientated the development of its businesses toward fast-growing markets, including in the Middle-East and Asia. This respected company, which is headquarters in Medan, North Sumatra, is inviting the very best candidates to apply for the position of Environment Manager, to be based on site at Lokhnga, Aceh.
Responsibilities:
- Provide plant with medium and long-term analysis of the prospects for change and the means for adapting or developing by making the necessary investments
- Ensure that the environmental regulations are complied with at plant level
- Contribute to the respect of the environment in the plant’s activities by preventing potential pollution such as noise, visual, dust, vibration and raising the awareness of employees
- Contribute to improve of operation procedure for plant operation
- Take responsibility for maintaining and/or improving the performance of the plant’s workshops in the medium and long terms
- Ensure that checks are made and audits taken on the equipment regularly, to detect irregularities on environment
- Propose studies, tests and measurements to the relevant department in order to improve performance
- Coordinate common tests with technical center
- Follow up the technical matters affecting the environment (pollution caused by the plant, sales of secondary products, waste) with the official body delivering permits
- Monitoring the plant’s environmental performance with the processes department and run a campaign based on the results to raise awareness
- Propose investments or changes to reduce pollution in the plant
- Make the different departments aware of the quality and environment aspects
- Promote exchanges between environment department and the other departments in the plant
- Run information meetings and make teams aware of safety matters and check that safety regulations are respected
- Induct new recruits, monitor the development of potentials and propose training schemes for teams in order to optimize the skills
Requirements:
- Male or Female welcome to apply
- University graduate in environment, chemical or industrial engineering field from reputable university, Master’s degree preferred
- Ten to 15 years experience in relevant area
- In-depth knowledge of the cement-making process is an advantage
- General knowledge of physics, chemistry science of the heat and computing
- Knowledge of quality and environmental standards
- Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary manner
- Knowledge of general mechanical/electrical engineering and industrial automation
- Good knowledge of safety rules and regulation
